I started my journey with Barbell Jungle in January 2016 as I was unhappy with how I looked and felt, I was at the heaviest I had been in my life and lacked motivation not to mention my self-esteem was at an all-time low. My friend and now Trainer Rochelle told me to come to a class and check it out. I made a deal with myself that I would give it 12 weeks of 100% commitment and see what happened. Rochelle and Sharaf met me at the gym on their day off and showed me basic movements and we took before photos and my weight so that I had a starting point and today I use those photos as a reminder of where I never want to be again. Day 1- I get a phone call at 5.30AM from Rochelle asking me if I was ready for my first class, I rolled out of bed and head to the gym. (These were a daily occurrence for a number of weeks) I was extremely nervous but there was no need to be, the people and trainers were welcoming and soooo helpful…..long story short it has been 2 years and I have lost 25kg and can lift weight I never thought I could, I am in the best shape of my life and I have never felt healthier, I love going into a shop and trying on a pair of pants and guess what….they fit lol. Rochelle and Sharaf are genuine people that care about what you want to achieve, they go the extra mile and help you with anything they can from exercise to diet to letting your frustrations out and the gym but most importantly a good laugh. I have been to a few gyms in my lifetime and this one has given me the best results and believe it or not I actually enjoy going….So if you are thinking about getting into fitness give it a go, what do you have to loose!!!!
